23.05.12 Stories From The Sonic Basement.
There was pitch black…….with a slow reveal, for those who still have no idea how the building looked see sound engineer Ryan Hillier’s photos below….
The Neutrinos gave that building it’s leaving party…it’s been sitting there rotting, crumbling….and in honour of if it’s beautiful decay we filled it with noise, bounced sound off the concrete, threw noise along it’s corridors…..from Sunday onwards it will be sanitised, renovated and lost….but the rabbits wont forget and neither will you………………..
On tuesday I got to help setup an awesome sound installation.
It was in an old Mc Donalds on Westlegate, Norwich.
Everything had been stripped out about 15 years ago and it left this huge cave-like concrete bunker. It sound mad, like a 4 sec reverb on all the time.
It was all part of The Neutrinos – ‘Butcher of Common Sense’ performance.
The night was going to have bands and sound work throughout this whole building.
Above is a few picture of the space. R.H

Stories and songs from the depths.
The music we played below deck on this steel hulled clipper would travel through the water for miles. Whales can hear the sea break on the waters edge up to 1000 miles away if the conditions are right.Everyone aboard was encouraged to join the un-tutored orchestra, together we serenaded the north sea inhabitants with dark tales.

18.11.10 SCVA
The Neutrinos first outing into playing in complete darkness took place at the SCVA. Musicians and audience were surprised by the immense impact of the loss of just one sense. The audience remarked at not feeling the responsibility of being an audience, they were unobservable.
The second outing in darkness was part of Vocal Invention 3, onstage at the NAC. never have I heard so many lighting experts after a gig, with ideas of how we could subtly illuminate the band. Much frustration at not being able to see was expressed.
27.03.11 ShopArtLive! curated by NAC. The Neutrinos performed behind closed doors and in cupboards using homemade-CCTV to spy on the audience and create songs in their honour. One-at-time-gigs were over-capcity. photos Duncan Kerridge
23.08.11 Off-Stage season . Shows avoiding convention continues….
Gigs behind closed doors, the Neutrinos inhabited the SCVA and created sound worlds behind the walls and behind locked doors. The inner wall of the building is called the skin, skin monster is an example of one musical piece created. This ran in conjunction with the SCVA Subversive Spaces Exhibition.
